New twists offered on old tastes
by Deborah Kades
Offerings from Wisconsin companies include
caramel-dipped apple slices and blueberry ale
BluCreek Blueberry Ale, another product, is on
tap at four Madison bars and restaurants: Paul's Club, Wonders
Pub, Fyfe's Corner Bistro and Old Chicago, said Thomas Moffitt,
a partner in HMS WorldSupply of Madison, the startup company
that developed it.
The brainchild of three entrepreneurs who met at
the UW-Madison School of Business, BluCreek Blueberry Ale is
flavored with juice from wild Maine blueberries. It is brewed by
Pioneer Brewing Co. in Black River Falls and distributed by
General Beer Distributors of Madison.
Bottles should be available for carry-out within
a month, Moffitt said.
